Meet Gorgeous Goldens - Walter

Our family lives on the lovely plains of northwestern OH. We have lived with dogs nearly all our lives, so when our children were small, we decided that they need to grow up with a dog, as well. After careful research, we settled on a Golden Retriever because of their history of gentleness and friendliness. We were not disappointed! We highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for companionship, for themselves or for their children! Golden retrievers are a gentle affectionate breed, with a strong desire to please. They thrive on human interaction, so they are the best dog out there for companionship! They are patient and calm with small children. They are mild, sensitive dogs that read body language readily, so they train easily. Active playtime is an essential during puppy hood and adolescence, as they have lots of energy to burn as they mature. Goldens are large dogs, with the males weighing between 65 and 75 pounds, and measuring around 23½ inches at the shoulder. The female is a bit more petite, weighing 55-65 pounds, and measuring around 22 inches at the shoulder. In spite of their size, they still love your lap! With good care, a Golden Retriever’s average lifespan is 10-12 years. They are double-coated, with soft, warm, insulating fur under the coarse, long outer coat. The beautiful long hair that grows on their forelegs, belly, and tail, known as feathering, is a gorgeous trademark of these charming dogs.
