Meet Hayley Elkins at The Shire Kennel

We breed Olde English Bulldogges and Great Danes on our 7+ acre property in the Shenandoah Valley of Virgina. We breed selectively for health, structure, and temperament, giving the puppy the best start in life. We lovingly raise all of our puppies indoors with our young children, (6, 7) who handle and play with the puppies from the day that they're born. We live on a farm, and all of our puppies are generally desensitized to standard farm things such as 4-wheelers, machinery, other animals, etc. by the time they're ready to go to their new homes. We encourage all interested parties to come to the property for themselves to meet all of us, parents included, who are always on premise. For those who cannot make the trek to our property, we happily air-ship (Danes only) or will meet up to four hours from our home, for a fee. We also happily facilitate video chat sessions to "meet" the puppy, for those who can't meet in person beforehand. All of our puppies always come UTD on vaccines, vet checked, dewormed, and with a two year congenital health guarantee. We do not alter our dogs' tails, ears, or declaws unless medically necessary, and will clairify any exisiting body modifications to interested parties should they exist. I do ask all new puppy families to sign a return contract, helping me to ensure the wellbeing of the animal for its lifetime. I also am available for breeder support for the lifetime of the puppy, to the best of my ability, ranging from health and training questions to "Hey, we're in a spot and need help with dog food this month." Yes, I am always here for the dog and its family. I issue detailed paperwork with any monetary exchange, which includes my letter head, kennel name, address, and phone number. All reservation deposits made are 100% REFUNDABLE because I do not believe in financially pressuring someone into a big decision they may not be ready for, for whateve reason.
