Meet Heather

My name is Heather, and I am the owner and hands-on breeder behind Hidden Valley Doodles, a small, family-run program located in southeastern Minnesota. I have been raising dogs since 2009, and my focus has always been quality, transparency, and raising puppies that thrive as true family companions. Hidden Valley Doodles is intentionally small and personal. I am not a high-volume breeder or broker. My dogs live in homes—many with trusted guardian families—and return to me for breeding, whelping, and puppy raising so I can personally oversee every step of the process. Puppies are raised by me with daily human interaction. Health and temperament are the foundation of my program. All breeding dogs are health and temperament tested, and pairings are chosen thoughtfully with long-term family life in mind. I focus on producing comfort companion doodles—dogs known for their stable temperaments, affectionate nature, intelligence, and adaptability. Puppies receive early neurological stimulation, structured socialization, and age-appropriate exposure to everyday household sights and sounds. As they grow, they are introduced to new environments, people, and routines that help build confidence. I also begin early potty foundations, grooming exposure, and gentle impulse-control skills to give puppies a strong start. Nutrition is another area I take seriously. Puppies are raised on high-quality diets and supported with probiotics and carefully balanced supplements when appropriate. I enjoy educating families so they feel confident continuing good nutrition at home. Transparency matters to me. Families are welcome to visit, meet the puppies, and see how they are raised. I also maintain a private Hidden Valley Doodles Facebook group where families receive regular updates, photos, and videos so they can follow their puppy’s early development. In addition to breeding, I am also a wildlife rehabilitator, which has deeply influenced how I work with animals. This background has strengthened my respect for proper development, patience, and meeting each animal’s individual needs. I take time to get to know families and help match puppies to homes where they will thrive. My goal is always a lifelong placement, not a quick one. I stay in touch with my puppy families long after puppies go home and truly enjoy watching them grow. I use Lancaster Puppies as a way for families to find me, but I encourage everyone to reach out, ask questions, and, when possible, visit in person.
