If you are interested in a dog with the loyalty and intelligence of a German Shepherd, the affection and gentleness of a Golden Retriever, combined with the protectiveness of a sheep dog, and the laid back personality of an English Bulldog, then a Great Pyrenees is exactly what you are looking for. Great Pyrenees dogs are working class dogs but without the hyperactivity of German Shepherds or sheepdogs. They have the highest rating from the AKC for being “affectionate with family” and are good with young children and other dogs. They also have the highest rating from the AKC for “watchdog/protective nature” which makes them instinctively protective of family, children and domesticated animals. While they are giant affectionate puffballs of fur they are only an average shedding class dog. They will only need grooming about every 3 to 4 weeks. They have a double coat of fur which the outer coat keeps them cool in the summer months along with their trademark white coat which reflects away the sun's heat. During the winter months their undercoat keeps them insulated and warm which also makes them great snuggling companions. We call this pup “Bubbles”. We have already been familiarizing her to both our indoor family environment as well as our farms goats, ducks, and chickens. She is learning to walk on a leash, loves riding in the car, and is very loving. When she’s in the house she will even watch TV. She adores cuddling you and wants to be your best friend. We are NOT a puppy mill! We intentionally bred our own family dog with the intent to share this wonderful breed of puppies with other loving families. She has have all had her first 2 veterinary appointment, immunizations and is happy, healthy, and ready for her forever homes.
