Meet Rachel Miller

These puppy comes from a line of working guard dogs. They are dedicated and loyal dogs to whoever or whatever they bond with, whether it's your family or your animals. They are intelligent and fascinating dogs, amazing me over and over again! Dogs that are not all keyed up unless they need to be. Dogs that don't bark unless there is a reason to bark. Gentle dogs, unless they need to be fierce. A quiet, constant friend if that's what you want them to be. Itaska, a yearling full sibling sister, at around 6 months, was found guarding a sheep after it had died last fall. What a dedicated dog! We will soon be ending our spring lambing season. A few evenings ago we were checking our over 100 ewe sheep. Apart from the big group of sheep was a ewe with her newborn lambs. Itaska was lying there calmly guarding the young and helpless. Somehow this dog can sense that! As I was taking this all in, the coyotes started to howl less than 1/4 mile away! Wasn't long she was up alert and barking, then howled to the skies. There was a chorus of coyotes by now, but only one dog to protect the flock of over 100 ewes with 185 adorable lambs! Itaska barked and ran straight towards the coyotes, and with her deep threatening bark, ran into the woods. She barked until they were gone. Only then did she come back. I began to realize how valuable Itaska is to us! She could be worth many thousands! I called Mr Ross, from a city in Tennessee this morning to see how Alexandria, a full sister to our puppies sire, is doing. His answer in few words . . . Excellent! She'd eat you up. She's almost human in how she thinks. She knows how to decipher whether someone or something is suspicious and barks until it goes away. Sometimes she gets a hold of the fence and shakes it when someone walks past. And yet when she was with a couple other dogs and some Kiko goats, she did not growl or bark. They were good and alright. Somehow she knew that. He says that's what I mean by how she thinks. The puppies begin to bark at anything suspicious at only a couple months old or less. None of our dogs have ever hurt anyone but I can't promise they wouldn't if someone was dangerous. They get rid of anything that they think doesn't belong, so if you get a new resident addition to your family, like a chicken or peacock or kitten, it is a necessity to introduce it and see that the dog knows it's a part of your place now and that it belongs. Then the dog will include that in its guarding. This particular 4 month old puppy, with her siblings was found guarding 5 small bantams that were in the garden the other day. They so kindly laid down to watch and make sure they were kept safe. Amazing to see! Having said all that about guarding, these dogs do make wonderful friends!!! We have never heard a complaint from anyone who ever purchased one from us. Remember, you need to put them with whatever you want them to protect. We don't make pets out of them when they are puppies so that they can bond with you or with your animals. And that is also why they are so respectful and don't jump up on you when you get them. By now you may have guessed my personal feeling about these dogs! Yes, they are impressive dogs! Payment link for Consumer https://www.consumersafetygroup.com/breeder/rachel-miller
