Description

Hello! I am an AKC registered Havanese puppy! I have been family raised on a farm in the country around children. I have had my shots and de-wormers. I will be checked by a veterinarian and microchipped. For more information or to schedule a visit with me, please contact Leroy Monday through Saturday. All Sunday calls will be returned on Monday. Here's more information about Havanese: This beautiful companion breed was created in the 1800s for the Cuban nobility, and was brought to the United States during the Cuban Revolution in 1959. The Havanese is an affectionate, playful, and energetic breed that gets along with everyone; the elderly, children, and even other dogs. They can live anywhere as long as they are with their human family, and are not kept outside. They need to live indoors. The Havanese does not like to be alone because they are sensitive, and can suffer from separation anxiety. New dog owners would do fine with a Havanese because the breed is intelligent and easy to train. However, it would be essential for the pup to have early training and socialization, this helps to deter bad behavior when older. The Havanese has a tender, kind, and silly personality, and loves to sit on the back of a couch or a table and just watch life. They seem to really love paper, especially toilet paper, and enjoy shredding it for the fun of it. The breed needs about 30 minutes of exercise a day, a long walk with playtime should suffice. They are typically 8-11 inches high, and usually weigh 7-13 pounds, with a lifespan of generally 12-15 years. Due to their thick, long, and silky coat, maintenance can be time consuming. The Havanese does need to have regular daily brushing to avoid matting, and some prefer to keep the breed’s coat clipped short. The colors of the coat can be black, white, black and tan, sable, gray, with many other colors and patterns as well. Havanese do need to be bathed often, and due to the length of the coat it is advised that they are professionally groomed. It is also important to keep the area around the eyes clean, as well as their teeth brushed daily, and nails trimmed 1-2x/month. When caring for your Havanese it would be vital to handle the pups' paws frequently, most dogs do not like their paws touched. Also, it is essential to check your pup consistently for anything out of the ordinary. The Havanese is generally a healthy breed and with routine veterinary visits, care, and love they should live a long and happy life. Each dog breed can be prone to develop certain diseases or conditions, be sure to research your specific breed before making a purchase to ensure you´re prepared for any challenges that may arise. This information is only a generalization and we make no guarantees on any breed related to personality, appearance, or typical health characteristics. We are a blast to play with, watch our video and see!
