I have a purebred American hairless Terrier. He is currently 7 months old and he is completely hairless. He has the smallest layer of peach fuzz across his entire body making him feel like velvet. I know the post says Rat terrier however that’s the closest thing I could find in the dog selection. He is a very special pup and has one blue and one brown eye. He currently weights 15 pounds and will stay this size throughout his life. He has the build of a mini greyhound and is very lean. He is completely socialized with all ages of people, cats, dogs, public, and loud noises. I’m looking to find him a new home soon as I can’t risk taking him with me to Arizona and putting his delicate skin at risk to the UV and heat.
I have one beautiful male 7 months old purebred old American Hairless. He is completely socialized with all people, dogs, cats, and loud noises. He was born December 4,2025. He has his purebred pink slip paper. He is a lovely little boy who currently weights 15 pounds and will stay in this size category. He also has heterochromia (one blue and one brown eye) He is completely hairless and has a tiny layer of peach fuzz across his body, making him feel like velvet. I originally got him for $3500 from a breeder, however due to moving I cant bear to take him to the Arizona heat and out his skin at risk. Please feel free to reach out if you are interested in such a unique little pup

Pros
Exceptionally long-lived — a healthy Rat Terrier can live 15 to 18 years, among the longest of any dog breed
Authentic American breed with AKC recognition and a rich history on US farms and homesteads
Very low grooming requirements — the short, smooth coat needs only a weekly brush
Friendly and adaptable temperament — more sociable with strangers than many working terrier breeds
Cons
Strong prey drive makes the breed unsafe around unsupervised small animals including cats and rabbits
Independent terrier mind requires consistent, patient training — recall is unreliable in unfenced environments
Prolific digger and escape artist — secure fencing with a buried base or dig-guard is essential
Can be vocal and energetic indoors without sufficient daily exercise and mental stimulation
