🐾 OTHER INFORMATION ABOUT THE DOG (personality traits, special medical or food needs, reason for rehoming etc):
Mocha has been with us since April 17th after some friends found her roaming alone near a busy road by the woods. There were no homes or owners in sight, so they safely picked her up and asked if I could rescue her, and of course I said yes.
When they first brought her over, she was sweet as can be. They had checked her over during the ride home and didn’t notice anything concerning at first, but once she was walking around my house, we realized she wasn’t putting any weight on her back right leg. We immediately made an appointment with our family vet and learned she had a fractured bone that needed treatment. She was fitted with a wrap and brace, and she has been healing beautifully ever since. 💕
When Mocha first came to us, she was shy, quiet, and a little hesitant. Now her personality is shining more every day. She’s affectionate, funny, observant, sassy, and has the sweetest little habits. She loves following me around the house and staying close, but she also enjoys her quiet space. You’ll usually find her tucked under my bed, under the sofa, or anywhere dark and cozy for naps. She’s very particular about her sleep and it’s honestly adorable. 😂
Mocha LOVES affection. I carry her around like a baby and talk to her constantly, and she soaks up every bit of love! She enjoys meal time very much and will definitely let you know if she’s hungry, thirsty, or thinks she deserves a little more food. 🤣
She enjoys being outside and sometimes takes little mid-potty breaks just to lay in the grass and relax. She’s currently learning how to fetch and is starting to bring the ball back for belly rubs. She’s also catching onto her name, comes when called, and is learning “sit.”
At night, we’ve created a really good routine for her. I take her outside a couple times in the evening for short play and potty breaks (usually about 15–20 minutes), then she goes to her “room” (crate) with a blanket over it for bedtime. She has been sleeping through the night the last few days with this routine and doing amazing.
The reason we are rehoming Mocha is because my mom’s dog recently had a litter, and we already had plans to adopt one of those puppies before Mocha unexpectedly came into our lives. As much as we love her, we also recognize that Mocha is going to grow into a bigger dog, and our home is honestly quite small. I don’t want her to feel confined or limited on space as she grows.
We’re also not the most active household, and I know Labradors thrive in active outdoors environments with plenty of exercise, play, and room to explore. More than anything, I want Mocha to have the kind of home where she can truly thrive and live the happiest life possible. 🤎
She deserves a loving, patient family that will continue helping her grow into the amazing dog she’s becoming. She has already overcome so much in such a short time and has such a gentle, loving spirit.
Please message me if you’re seriously interested in giving this sweet girl a forever home.
