I spend a great deal of time working on desensitization with my puppies. This includes gentle exposure to bathing, nail trims, ear cleaning, wrinkle and eye wiping, gum checks, and early dental care. I massage their paws, introduce music, and work on litter training with grass/pine pellets before gradually transitioning to outdoor exposure(depending on the weather or the season) As they grow, I introduce sponge baths and then baby tub baths, along with gradual exposure to a high-velocity dryer.
The puppies are raised in our home around children, cats, our golden retriever, and of course other pugs. My goal is to send home a well-socialized puppy who is comfortable with normal touch, basic grooming, common household noises, and everyday care like potty training. I work hard to prevent any type of social or separation anxiety also try and prevent any sensory problems. This is so their transition into their new homes I as smooth as possible for both puppies and their new families!
Consistency once they go home will continue to build on this foundation.
