Description

I'll add more info soon just getting things in order located in southern Colorado. Bred strictly for utility, grit, and daily labor on active ranches, farms, sporting, & homesteads. These are high-drive animals built for serious handlers who have a clear, daily job for a dog. Not bred for aesthetics or casual companionship. (((After July 5th prices will be adjusted.))) (((3 months old first shots will be administered))) (((pictures and media will be updated shortly))) 📋 Mama's Boy (The Social Pack Follower) ************ Feeding Time & Social Observation: Behavior: During this specific feeding, he casually lay down among the litter’s feet and nipped at flies because he was already satisfied from his morning nurse. However, in general pack play, he tends to be a bit of a fight starter with his littermates. The moment a sibling stands up to him or it gets to be too much, he immediately runs away to hide behind his mom. What it means for his future: He has a spunky, bold streak and loves to test boundaries, but he lacks the confidence to finish what he starts or handle the consequences on his own. Because he uses his mom as a safety net when he gets overwhelmed, his new owner will need to be very consistent with boundaries. He needs clear structure so he learns to navigate social situations confidently without running to a human to "save" him from normal dog interactions. ************ Behavior: During this specific feeding, he casually lay down among the litter’s feet and nipped at flies because he was already satisfied from his morning nurse. When released from the kennel, he was very socially motivated. He looked to see where his familiar pack was heading, followed their lead, and relieved himself right alongside them. What this means for his future: Mama's Boy is highly driven by social connections and takes comfort in the presence of others. Rather than making independent moves, he prefers to follow established social cues. He has a sweet, cooperative nature and would thrive incredibly well in a household that already has another confident dog to help show him the ropes! ************ Nighttime Environmental & Stress Exposure Test (Age 6 Weeks): Context: Released alone at night in tall grass while hungry/thirsty, exposed to novel scent items (including hide-on-bone), roaming cats, and livestock manure. Tested on environmental confidence and the walk back to the whelping area. Observations for Mama's Boy: Mama’s Boy delivered a pleasantly surprising, standout performance under pressure. Unlike any of the other puppies, he showed immense environmental bravery by confidently running out to the very edge of the flashlight's light beam. He spent the entire test actively working his nose and adventuring through the tall grass, checking back in with me here and there. He completely ignored the resident cats and livestock manure, but showed an intense, high interest in the hide-on-bone scent item. At the end of the test, he successfully followed me all the way back to his mother at the whelping area. What this means for his future: This test proved that Mama's Boy possesses an excellent "working mind" when facing physical and environmental stress. While he loves his safety net in casual pack play, putting him under pressure unlocks a highly adventurous, confident, and drive-centered dog. His strong scent interest in the hide-on-bone and his willingness to work out at the edge of the light indicate excellent potential for tracking, sport, or active outdoor roles. He balances a sweet attachment to his family with excellent environmental courage!
