These adorable Mini Elkhounds are feisty, fluffy, and ready to steal your heart! They are very well socialized, have been raised around children and other dogs, are up to date on all their shots and wormings, and are already mostly potty trained! When my husband and I first started this breed almost 10 years ago, we were hoping to take all the things we loved about our purebred Elkhound, Maya, and combine them with the smaller, more house and travel friendly size of a Pom. Well, we got exactly what we hoped for and more! We loved the puppies so much that we kept one- Duchess- so that we could keep the breed going! These wonderful dogs are truly the best of both worlds! You have a loyal, smart, adventurous partner in crime who’s active enough to take along on all your outdoor adventures, but is also small and snuggly enough to be happy as your forever couch companion for movie night! Most of our puppies get between 10 and 20lbs full grown, and we’ve seen them do great with all sorts of lifestyles! From snuggly indoor companions for elderly couples, to ranch dogs on the wide open spaces of Montana and New Mexico, to suburban superstars winning over the hearts of every neighbor, they truly are so adaptable and so ready for whatever life with you may look like! Meet Yoshi- or as we like to call him, Yoshi Bear! He really is like a fuzzy, snuggly grizzly bear cub! His favorite past time is just snuggling up in our laps and soaking in all the hugs, kisses, and belly rubs! When he does finally decide to leave the warmth of our arms, he rolls and tumbles all over the yard chasing after leaves and siblings’ tails! He can be a little shy at first, but give him some lovin’ and he’ll soon be following you anywhere you wish to go- especially if that anywhere happens to be the couch!
