History: The Mini Pomsky is a sized-down version of the popular Pomsky: a designer breed that's a hybrid of the Pomeranian and the Siberian Husky. As far as designer dogs go, the Pomsky is one of the newest. In fact, it didn't originate until 2011. The Pomsky and Mini Pomsky have an interesting history in that they were created as a result of an internet myth. Long story short, people began posting photos of their fluffy, wolf-like dogs and said they were Pomeranian/Husky mixes. They weren't, but after the pictures went viral, breeders sought to make the Pomsky a reality. Today, both the Mini Pomsky and the standard-sized Pomsky are among the most popular designer dogs.

Temperament: The Mini Pomsky is an energetic, playful, and loving dog that's a perfect fit for families with older children. Around little kids, the Mini Pomsky may be skittish or nervous. Like the Pomeranian, the Miniature Pomsky is very protective of its family and makes an excellent watchdog. Mini Pomskies also love to bark, so they're not the best choice for apartment dwellers. While they can be trained to bark less, there's no way to stop a Mini Pomsky from barking entirely. Intelligent and eager to please, Mini Pomskies are very trainable dogs that catch onto new commands and tricks quickly. During training, these dogs respond best to positive reinforcement techniques like treats and praise. As long as they are well-socialized and trained, the Mini Pomsky is a well-behaved, loyal companion.
