The Cockapoo — also known as the Cockerpoo, Spoodle, or Cockerdoodle — is a well-loved cross between the Cocker Spaniel and the Poodle, famous for its affectionate nature, intelligence, and often low-shedding coat. Cockapoos are friendly, social dogs that adapt easily to family life and thrive on human interaction.

Generations such as F1, F1b, F2, F3, and F4 Cockapoos differ mainly in coat predictability and genetic makeup. F1 Cockapoos are a 50/50 mix and can vary in coat type. F1b Cockapoos (typically around 75% Poodle) are often bred for a more predictable, lower-shedding coat. Later generations like F2, F3, and F4 — produced by breeding two Cockapoos together — tend to offer more consistency in appearance, including the popular teddy-bear look.

Cockapoos usually inherit the Poodle’s intelligence and the Cocker Spaniel’s gentle, affectionate temperament.
