Cavalier Miniature Bernese Mountain Dog Puppies for sale in the USA

Also called the Mini Berner or Mini Bernese, the Miniature Bernese Mountain Dog is a gentle, affectionate crossbreed between the Bernese Mountain Dog and the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. This hybrid combines the charm and loving nature of both parent breeds into a smaller, more manageable companion dog that retains the signature Bernese look and temperament.

The Miniature Bernese Mountain Dog is a relatively new designer breed created to capture the beautiful markings and sweet disposition of the Bernese Mountain Dog in a more compact size. Recognized by the International Canine Association (ICA) and the International Designer Canine Registry (IDCR), this hybrid typically has a medium-to-long, tri-colored coat — black, white, and rust — though variations can occur due to the Cavalier’s influence. Their build is sturdy yet smaller than a standard Bernese, making them ideal for families seeking a Bernese-like dog in a more apartment-friendly size.

Mini Berners are known for their loving and sociable personalities. They form strong bonds with their families and are particularly gentle and patient with children. These dogs are friendly, loyal, and eager to please, thriving in homes where they can spend plenty of time with their people. Like both parent breeds, they are intelligent and respond well to positive reinforcement training. Generally healthy, they can still be prone to conditions such as hip or elbow dysplasia, progressive retinal atrophy, and hypothyroidism. Their coat requires regular brushing to prevent mats and tangles, as well as to manage shedding. Mini Berners have moderate energy levels — daily walks, playtime, and mental enrichment activities keep them happy and balanced. They shed year-round and are not hypoallergenic, but their affectionate nature and good-natured temperament make them an excellent addition to loving, active households.
