The Siberian Husky is one of the world’s most recognizable breeds, admired for its wolf-like appearance, intelligence, and friendly nature. Originally bred by the Chukchi people of Siberia to pull sleds across vast snowy landscapes, Huskies were also valued as gentle family companions who lived harmoniously within the household. Huskies are medium-sized, athletic dogs with thick double coats, striking blue or brown eyes, and high-set, triangular ears. Despite their fierce look, they are social, affectionate, and playful, getting along well with children and other dogs. They are pack-oriented and thrive with confident leadership and plenty of physical and mental activity. Without enough exercise, Huskies can become bored and destructive, but with structure and attention, they make loyal and engaging companions. While they shed heavily twice a year, their coat is largely self-cleaning, requiring only weekly brushing and occasional baths.
