Maltese are famous for their show-stopping, floor-length coat and are playful, charming, and adaptable toy companions. Maltese are affectionate toy dogs weighing less than seven pounds and covered by a long, straight, silky coat. They make alert watchdogs who are fearless in a charming toy-dog way. Maltese are low-shedding, long-lived, and happy to make new friends of all ages. Sometimes stubborn and willful, they respond well to rewards-based training.

Some info about the Yorkie -

This charming and perky little breed originated in Yorkshire, England during the time of the Industrial Revolution (1760-1840).  Scottish workers traveled to England to work in various factories and mines and brought this ancestor of the Yorkshire Terrier with them.  The dog they brought was not as small as our present day Yorkshire Terrier.  While in England and being mixed with a few other terrier breeds, is subsequently how the smaller Yorkshire Terrier, or Yorkie, came about.  The first documentation of the Yorkshire Terrier in the United States was in 1872.  This intelligent, confident, and playful little breed thinks he is bigger than he is, and sometimes has the personality to go with it.  Yorkies are normally 8-9 inches high and typically weigh in at no more than 7 pounds.  They are often 4-6 pounds but have been known to be from 12-15 pounds.  Yorkies are a companion breed and do well with first time dog owners, but can develop separation anxiety if left alone too long.  Due to their small size they are great for apartment living, but do need their exercise, and may be a bit yappy.  Early training and socialization is necessary to teach them proper behavior, but they can be a challenge to house train. Though the Yorkie is on the petite size they are not a good pet for a family with young children.  They are fine with other pets as long as they grow up together.  Although they have a long coat, they do have a propensity to be intolerant to the cold.

Cavaliers are extremely loving dogs that are known to constantly have their tails wagging.  This breed is extremely loyal and dislikes being left alone.  They love to be with their owner, and will accompany them like a happy, little shadow.  Their desire to please makes them relatively easy to train, but because they have a very gentle personality, it would be helpful to reinforce good behavior rather than punish them for bad behavior.  This breed does have a high prey drive, so they may try to chase small animals.  It would be wise to keep them in an enclosed area and monitored, or kept on a leash so they don’t accidentally wander off.  This breed knows no stranger and craves attention from everyone they meet, which doesn’t make them a very good guard dog.  Because of their size, Cavaliers can adapt really well to living in an apartment, as long as they are receiving enough physical and mental exercise throughout the day.  It is vitally important not to take them on walks during the heat of the day, as they do not do well in extreme temperatures, and are especially intolerant to the heat.  Though the Cavalier is a toy breed, it is one of the largest in this category.  They usually weigh between 13-18 pounds, and are typically 12-13 inches tall at the shoulder.  Although they are average shedders, their grooming is fairly easy to maintain, and their coats are often left longer for a more natural look.  .

Some fun facts about the Cavapoo breed -

A Cavapoo is a fluffy mix between a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Poodle.  They are extremely friendly and playful dogs that seem to bounce around with glowing love and energy. This outgoing breed tends to know no stranger and will be friendly with everyone they meet. Cavapoos are extremely curious and will love to explore new areas and meet new people. Although they will love playing with kids, and do really well with children, they should be monitored because of their size.  These pups are very affectionate and do not like to be left alone.  They are relatively easy to train and bond well with their families.  These pups love to please their owners and receive validation from those they love.  Cavapoos are known to be extremely friendly and intelligent; they do well playing and running around, but will also love to just cuddle up for a nap as well!  

Cavapoos can come in a variety of colors, and this, along with their size, is very dependent on the characteristics of each of their parents.  They usually have coats that are very soft and curly and come in shades of brown, white, and black.  Depending on the size of the poodle parent, they generally weigh between 9 and 25 pounds, and are typically 9 to 14 inches tall.  Because of their poodle parent, they are less likely to shed than other dogs, but their coats should be brushed to keep them healthy.  Their curly, dense hair makes them tolerate the cold relatively well, but they do best as house dogs and should not be kept outside.
