My name is Sandra, I've had the opportunity to enjoy and understand chow chows all my life. They are my pick!
I enjoy their personalities and their humble approach and dedication to their master. I notice they're way of doing things! Their cat instinct and things they do that other dog breeds do not. Including how clean they are as a breed! They are extremely intelligent and don't get praised enough. Once they've lived and get they're calmness they are exceptional companions. They need demand and loyalty to be outstanding achievers.
It takes the right person to raise a Chow Chow!
They do really good with older kids, not babies as babies pull hair, want to climb. But all in all they do well if trained properly like any other breed. There temperament may slightly change as they get older and I mean like year six to ten. They are more laid back and sleep more. They then tend to stick with that one human they've picked and hang around. They can be grumpy or let you know they are not in the mood. Just like any other dog.
