Size Siberian Huskies are medium-sized dogs with a well-balanced build and moderate bone. Males are usually 21–23.5 inches tall at the shoulder and weigh 45–60 pounds, while females are usually 20–22 inches tall and weigh 35–50 pounds. Coat Siberian Huskies have a dense, soft coat that can be gray, tan, black, or white. They may also have facial markings that resemble a mask, cap, or spectacles. Temperament Siberian Huskies are known for being friendly, gentle, alert, and outgoing. They are also intelligent, tractable, and eager to work. Health Siberian Huskies are generally healthy dogs with a lifespan of 12–14 years. However, they can be prone to certain inherited conditions, such as arthritis, hip dysplasia, cataracts, and more. Behavior Siberian Huskies are more interested in greeting visitors than scaring them off, and they make poor watchdogs. They also have a strong prey instinct, so they do best in homes without small pets. Exercise Siberian Huskies love to run, so they should be kept in a secured area or on a strong leash.
