Welcome to Von Schaaf Haus DuPree Dobermans & Danes, a family-run hobby breeding program located in Columbus, Ohio. What began as a deep love for two extraordinary breeds - the European Doberman and the Great Dane - has grown into a carefully managed breeding program centered around health, temperament, proper socialization, and lifelong family companionship. Our Dams & Sires are health-tested with results certified with the OFA Orthopedic Foundation for Animals. The OFA has breed-standard testing requirements and we are always in compliance. Our dogs are truly part of our family, and our puppies are raised in our home surrounded by everyday sights, sounds, people, and plenty of love. We take our responsibility as breeders seriously and put considerable thought into each litter, from selecting healthy, quality parents to providing our puppies with early neurological stimulation, enrichment, socialization, and age-appropriate training. Health is a major priority in our program. Our breeding dogs undergo appropriate health and genetic testing, and we invest in DNA testing so that the families we work with receive valuable information about their genetic health. We carefully screen and match families with puppies based on lifestyle, expectations, and temperament, and we provide our puppy families with detailed information and continued support throughout their dog’s life. Our goal is simple - to raise exceptional European Dobermans and Great Danes who are healthy, well-socialized, confident, and prepared to become deeply loved members of their forever families.
