Our F1B (First Generation Backcross) Pointador puppies bring together the Labrador Retriever (Lab) & German Shorthaired Pointer (GSP) breeds, with a stronger emphasis on the Lab side. The Dam (mother), Remington, is an F1 (First Filial Generation) Lab-GSP cross, and the Sire (father), Drake, is a purebred Lab, making these puppies approximately 75% Lab and 25% GSP by ancestry. This is not a “designer breed,” but rather a purpose-bred cross of two breeds used for similar tasks. Our goal was to combine the qualities we all value in a healthy, clear-headed Lab with the influence and benefits of a very healthy and stable GSP. Whether you’re looking for an active family companion, an outdoor adventure partner, or a potential sport or hunting prospect, one of these puppies will likely meet your needs. Both parents have undergone comprehensive health screening, including OFA Hip & Elbow evaluations, PennHIP hip evaluation, Embark breed & genetic health testing, and OFA CAER eye examinations, with excellent results and applicable health clearances.
