Description

These pups are a F1B litter! This is the first litter for mom and dad. Mom is a 37lbs blue merle bernedoodle. Dad is a 14lbs mini blue poodle. These pups are beginning to grow their personalities as they learn new things. We started tasting puppy mush and they learn quickly. They also have begun potty training on a tray with alfalfa pellets. This transitions well to the smell of pottying in the grass outside. Puppies are stimulated several times a day by personal touch, belly rubs as they lay on their backs, and paw rubbings. It is so much fun to see the personalities begin to bloom. Cooper is a solid black boy and his hair is beginning to curl already. He is learning and growing daily. At 3 weeks you dont really know much about their personality. That comes in the weeks ahead.

Pros

Combines the Bernese Mountain Dog's legendary family temperament with the Poodle's trainability and low-shed coat
Three size categories (Standard, Mini, Tiny) with the Standard offering the most predictable Bernese temperament expression
American Bernedoodle breeders have developed some of the most rigorous health testing in the designer dog market given the Bernese's cancer prevalence
Striking tricolor coat pattern in many individuals — the Bernese markings in a soft, low-shed texture

Cons

Cancer is the leading cause of death in Bernese Mountain Dogs — this significantly shapes the Bernedoodle's lifespan unpredictability, particularly in Standard size individuals
Lifespan varies dramatically by size: Standard Bernedoodles average 7-12 years; Tiny Bernedoodles may reach 14-18 years
The premium price ($2,000-$5,000) reflects demand rather than guaranteed health outcomes — health testing documentation is essential
Coat requires professional grooming every 6-8 weeks; the Bernedoodle's dense fleece mats faster than many owners anticipate
