Pros

The Golden Retriever's legendary family temperament in a compact, allergy-friendly package ā€” the most popular small family dog in America's designer breed market
Low to non-shedding coat in most individuals from multi-generation programs
Compact size (20-35 pounds) makes apartment life feasible without sacrificing the warmth of a Golden Retriever personality
Exceptionally trainable: inherits the Poodle's quick learning and the Golden's desire to please simultaneously

Cons

Among the most expensive designer dogs in America ā€” $2,000-$4,000 is typical from quality breeders; the market's popularity has created many sellers without health testing
Cancer risk from the Golden Retriever parent is a documented long-term concern even in the smaller cross
Coat requires professional grooming every 6-8 weeks regardless of how small the individual is
Separation anxiety is extremely common ā€” both parent breeds are prone to it, and the combination amplifies it
