My coat is long and silky, black merle, with swirls of silvery gray rippling through the dark like storm clouds rolling across a midnight sky, and tucked in among the drama are flashes of white that look like someone added them on purpose, just to make me look even more striking. My body is cobby and compact, short and solid, built close to the ground in that sturdy, well-balanced way that makes me look like I mean business, even when I’m mostly fluff. And my head, well, my head is a gorgeous round apple, my face pretty and refined, with a sweet, expressive look that doesn’t match my dramatic name one bit. I may be named for a dragon, but I’m a soft one. Everything about me is soft: my ears, my chest, my plush, feathery coat, so soft that people reach out to pet me and then forget to stop, their fingers sinking into my fur like it’s a cloud with a heartbeat. I strut a little. I’ll admit that too. But when you’ve got a coat like mine and a face like mine, a little strut is only fair. Draco by name, dazzling by nature.
