Description

These pups are a Miniature Poodle cross with some real heart to them, born from a Bernedoodle mom and a Miniature Poodle dad, and they've got a gentle, curious nature that comes through the moment you're around them. They tend to be the kind of dogs that take in their surroundings thoughtfully, warm up with ease, and settle naturally into family life without a lot of fuss. With that mix of Poodle intelligence and the soft, easygoing temperament the Bernedoodle side brings, any one of them is likely to be a genuinely attentive companion as they grow. In terms of appearance, these pups carry the soft, low-shedding coat you'd expect from a Poodle-heavy cross, with a plush, wavy to curly texture that tends to be easy on people with allergies. Their compact size reflects the Miniature Poodle influence, making them well suited to a range of living situations. The combination of a manageable build and an expressive, soft-featured face gives them a quiet sort of appeal that tends to draw people in right away. They've all been vet checked, had their shots kept up to date, and been dewormed, so you can feel good about where they're starting from health-wise. Families are more than welcome to come meet them in person, which we'd honestly encourage because seeing how these pups interact with people tells you a lot more than any description can. If you've been looking for a smaller dog with a calm, gentle personality and a curious streak that keeps things interesting, it's worth coming out and spending a little time with the litter. A dog with this kind of temperament tends to grow into a steady, loyal presence in a household, the sort that adapts well to different people and different rhythms of daily life. We're happy to answer any questions you have and help you figure out if one of these pups is the right fit for your home.

Pros

Combines the Bernese Mountain Dog's legendary family temperament with the Poodle's trainability and low-shed coat

Three size categories (Standard, Mini, Tiny) with the Standard offering the most predictable Bernese temperament expression

American Bernedoodle breeders have developed some of the most rigorous health testing in the designer dog market given the Bernese's cancer prevalence

Striking tricolor coat pattern in many individuals — the Bernese markings in a soft, low-shed texture

Cons

Cancer is the leading cause of death in Bernese Mountain Dogs — this significantly shapes the Bernedoodle's lifespan unpredictability, particularly in Standard size individuals

Lifespan varies dramatically by size: Standard Bernedoodles average 7-12 years; Tiny Bernedoodles may reach 14-18 years

The premium price ($2,000-$5,000) reflects demand rather than guaranteed health outcomes — health testing documentation is essential

Coat requires professional grooming every 6-8 weeks; the Bernedoodle's dense fleece mats faster than many owners anticipate
