Description

Hey, hey, hey!!! We are Golden Retriever puppies, and are we ever golden! We're looking for our new homes, and absolutely over the moon about meeting you! We have that classic, bright golden charm, complete with happy, lolling tongues and tails that just won't stop wagging! Seriously, our tails wag so fast we think we might fly away! Our coats are long and beautiful, in varying shades of golden yellow. We are so friendly, and love meeting new people. Our nature is gentle and affectionate and we are also very patient, which makes us excellent playmates for children of all sizes. We are very eager to please, and are quick learners, but it helps that we are very motivated by...Food! But never fear, you will always be our favorite thing on planet earth! We are very playful and energetic, and will keep our puppy-like charm and playfulness throughout our adult lives. We're just little charmers through and through. To save you the headache, we will have been given all of our shots and dewormers and will be thoroughly checked by the vet before we head home with you. We have been raised right here on the home place, and live with our darling mother, Tracy, who would love to meet you when you stop by. Don' wait around to long, call today! Our bags are practically packed, and we are jumping up and down with pure joy waiting for you to come pick us up.

Pros

America's quintessential family dog — ranked #3 in AKC registration for decades, with an unrivaled reputation for gentleness with children
Exceptional versatility: guide dogs, therapy dogs, search and rescue, hunting retrievers, AKC titling competitors — all in one breed
Golden Retriever Cancer Foundation-backed health research makes this one of the most scientifically studied breeds for hereditary cancer
Social and adaptable — reliably friendly with strangers, other dogs, and animals with appropriate socialization

Cons

Cancer is the leading cause of death in American Goldens, affecting over 60% of the breed — genetic testing cannot currently screen for this
Shedding is prodigious and year-round, intensifying dramatically during biannual coat blows
The puppy phase is extensive — Goldens are frequently described as puppies until age three
High exercise requirement; separation anxiety is common in the breed when owner interaction is insufficient
