The Frenchton originated in the United States during the 1990s, when breeders began crossing French Bulldogs with Boston Terriers to reduce the respiratory issues common in Frenchies. Typically, a Frenchton’s lineage is about 75% French Bulldog and 25% Boston Terrier, resulting in a dog that retains the Frenchie’s sturdy build and iconic bat ears but with a slightly longer muzzle and improved breathing.
