Goldador Puppies for sale in Weaverville, North Carolina

Also known as the Golden Labrador, Golden Lab, or Golden Retriever x Labrador Retriever, the Goldador combines the best qualities of two of the world’s most beloved breeds. This hybrid brings together the intelligence and friendliness of the Labrador Retriever with the gentle and loyal temperament of the Golden Retriever. Energetic, affectionate, and eager to please, Goldadors make outstanding family companions and working dogs alike.

The Goldador was developed to create a sensitive yet sturdy working dog. With the Golden Retriever’s intelligence and empathy paired with the Labrador’s strength and determination, the breed quickly gained popularity as a reliable partner for a variety of roles. Goldadors excel as guide dogs, therapy companions, and service animals, as well as in search and rescue and detection work. They combine the gentle, people-oriented nature of their parent breeds with a strong work ethic, making them both capable workers and loving pets.

Goldadors typically have dense double coats that are short to medium in length and straight, similar to a Labrador’s, with a soft undercoat for insulation. Their coats come in shades of yellow, golden, reddish gold, chocolate brown, or black. Known for their warm and outgoing personalities, Goldadors thrive on human companionship and enjoy spending time with their families. They are intelligent, social, and easy to train, making them ideal for households with children or other pets. Their eagerness to please and calm demeanor also make them excellent candidates for therapy or assistance work. Grooming involves weekly brushing to reduce shedding, though more frequent brushing is helpful during seasonal shedding periods. Routine ear cleaning, nail trimming, and dental care are also important for their overall health. Goldadors are high-energy dogs that need regular physical and mental exercise—daily walks, swimming, or playtime in the yard help keep them balanced and happy. Though they are generally healthy, they can be prone to conditions common in large breeds such as hip and elbow dysplasia, cataracts, and PRA. Friendly, loyal, and full of life, the Goldador is a perfect blend of heart and athleticism—an excellent match for active families or anyone seeking a devoted companion.
