Compact and athletic, Jack Russells have smooth, rough, or broken coats that are primarily white with brown or black markings. They are highly intelligent but independent, requiring firm and consistent training, along with plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. Without it, they may become bored or destructive. Loyal and affectionate toward their families, Jack Russells do best with experienced owners who can match their energy.
