The Jack Russell Terrier — also known as the Jack, JRT, or Jack Russell — is a spirited and energetic small breed originally bred to help hunters drive foxes from their dens. They are highly intelligent but independent, requiring firm and consistent training, along with plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. Without it, they may become bored or destructive.
