King Charles Spaniel Puppies for sale in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin

The King Charles Spaniel, also known as the English Toy Spaniel or "Charlies," originates from 16th-17th century Europe and was a favorite among royalty, including King Charles II. This small breed typically weighs between 8-14 lbs and stands about 9-11 inches tall. Physically, they have a pronounced domed skull, a very short, upturned nose, large dark eyes, and long, feathered ears. Their coat is long, silky, and comes in several colors such as Blenheim, Tricolor, Black & Tan, and Ruby. Temperament-wise, King Charles Spaniels are affectionate, gentle, and more reserved than their cousin, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. They are sensitive, responsive, and make excellent companion dogs suited for calm households and indoor living with moderate exercise. Important to note are their health concerns, mainly brachycephalic syndrome causing breathing issues and a high risk of mitral valve disease, making responsible breeding and regular veterinary care vital. Ideal for those seeking a devoted lapdog, the King Charles Spaniel is a unique and charming breed with a rich history and special needs.
