The Maltipoo is a beloved designer breed created by crossing a Maltese with a Toy Poodle. The Maltipoo was likely first bred in the United States during the 1980s or 90s, when breeders sought to combine the Maltese’s loving temperament with the Poodle’s intelligence and low-shedding coat. With its soft, curly coat—usually white or cream—and bright, expressive eyes, the Maltipoo is as adorable as it is friendly.
