Miniature Dachshund Puppies for sale in Salem, Oregon

The Miniature Dachshund is the smaller version of the famous long-bodied “weiner dog,” combining charm, courage, and curiosity in a compact frame. Originally bred in Germany for hunting small game, these little hounds were prized for their ability to dig into burrows and flush out prey. With their playful personalities and unmistakable appearance—short legs, long bodies, and floppy ears—Miniature Dachshunds have become beloved companions, especially among city dwellers looking for an affectionate, spirited small dog.

Miniature Dachshunds are loyal, intelligent, and full of character. Though they can be independent and a bit stubborn, they bond deeply with their families and love to be involved in daily activities. Their grooming needs vary by coat type—smooth, longhaired, or wirehaired—but all require regular care to stay healthy. Energetic and curious, they enjoy walks and playtime but should be monitored to protect their long backs. Compact, bold, and endlessly endearing, Miniature Dachshunds bring personality and devotion in a pint-sized package.
