Shihpoo Puppies for sale in Hesperia, California

The Shih-Poo — also known as the Shih Tzu x Poodle, Shipoo, Shi-Poo, Shihpooh, or Shipooh — is a popular designer crossbreed that combines the affectionate nature of the Shih Tzu with the intelligence and low-shedding coat of the Miniature or Toy Poodle. Small, friendly, and full of charm, Shih-Poos make wonderful companions for families and individuals alike. Their gentle disposition and playful energy make them especially well-suited for homes with children or those looking for a cuddly lap dog.

Developed in the United States during the rise of designer dog breeding in the 1980s and 90s, the Shih-Poo was created to capture the best traits of its parent breeds — the Shih Tzu’s loving temperament and the Poodle’s smarts and hypoallergenic coat. These adorable dogs can have curly or silky fur of varying lengths and colors, and their expressive eyes and round faces only add to their appeal. Shih-Poos are affectionate and social, often following their owners from room to room, though some may be a bit shy around new people. They thrive on companionship, moderate daily exercise, and interactive playtime. Grooming is essential to prevent tangles and mats, with daily brushing and regular trims recommended. Low-shedding and hypoallergenic, the Shih-Poo is an ideal choice for allergy sufferers seeking a loving, intelligent, and low-maintenance companion.
