In the right home, Boerboels are calm, gentle giants known for their loyalty and devotion. Healthwise, they are relatively hardy but may be prone to hip and elbow dysplasia, heart disease, bloat, and certain eye conditions. Grooming is simple — weekly brushing keeps their short coat healthy, and occasional baths help maintain cleanliness. Regular nail trimming and ear checks are also important. Boerboels shed moderately throughout the year and are not suitable for allergy sufferers.
