Goldendoodle Puppies for sale in North Carolina

The Goldendoodle — also known as the Groodle or Goldenpoo — is a beloved hybrid breed that combines the affectionate nature of the Golden Retriever with the intelligence and low-shedding coat of the Poodle. This versatile breed comes in multiple generations: F1 Goldendoodles are a 50/50 first-generation cross with variable coat types and unpredictable shedding, while F1B Goldendoodles (75% Poodle, 25% Golden Retriever) offer wavy to curly, low-shedding coats ideal for allergy sufferers. F1BB Goldendoodles (87.5% Poodle) provide the most hypoallergenic, non-shedding coats with very curly textures, and F2B Goldendoodles (62.5% Poodle) balance low-shedding qualities with the warm Golden Retriever temperament. Multigen Goldendoodles (third generation and beyond) offer the most predictable traits with consistent coat types and stable personalities—perfect for families seeking a reliable, allergy-friendly companion.

Originally bred in Australia and the United States during the 1990s as an allergy-friendly service dog, this designer mix quickly gained popularity for its friendly temperament and family appeal. Available in three sizes—standard Goldendoodles (60-100 pounds), miniature Goldendoodles (25-50 pounds), and toy Goldendoodles (10-25 pounds)—these athletic, intelligent dogs feature wavy to curly coats ranging from cream to gold, apricot, or red. Recognized by groups such as the Goldendoodle Association of North America and The Goldendoodle Registry, Goldendoodles are social dogs that thrive on companionship and are known for their eagerness to please, making them easy to train and great for first-time dog owners. Grooming needs vary by generation: F1 Goldendoodles require regular brushing several times weekly, while F1B, F1BB, and Multigen varieties need daily brushing and professional grooming every 6-8 weeks to prevent matting in their curlier, non-shedding coats. Energetic and playful, Goldendoodles need at least an hour of exercise daily and love engaging in activities that stimulate both body and mind. With their cheerful personality, minimal shedding, and adaptable nature, the Goldendoodle makes an ideal companion for active families and individuals seeking a smart, hypoallergenic, and family-friendly dog.
