Redbone Coonhounds are sociable and adaptable dogs that get along well with children, strangers, and other pets when properly socialized. They enjoy tracking scents, which is instinctive to their hunting heritage, so they should always be leashed or fenced securely during outdoor time. Training is generally easy thanks to their eagerness to please, though short, engaging sessions work best. Healthwise, Redbones are a sturdy breed but can be prone to hip dysplasia and ear infections due to their floppy ears.
