Rocco loves what he loves, he forms strong bonds with other puppies and my son and tends to ignore the rest. He knows that I am the one that feeds them so I get a little snuggle but he loves Ivan, my son. His loyalty and focus is a given. It is said by some that this is not a cuddly breed but I have never really seen that. They love attention and cuddles but are not needy. In fact they enjoy doing their own thing and can be left alone for extended periods of time. They do require a good brush on a regular basis. This keeps the coat shiny and your couch without hair. Other than brushing them they are low maintenance and high reward type of dogs.
Our puppies are well socialized and are used to playing with other puppies and bigger dogs, even the cats. We have a bit of a zoo around here. It is important to me that they are kind to the smaller puppies and obey the adults. We do not allow bullies. I know that the puppies need an Alpha, but they do it without causing trauma to the other dogs. My Alpha’s are natural leaders.
