Argus

Argus

Australian Shepherd

14 weeks 6 days old

Argus is an absolutely stunning atypical merle male standard Australian Shepherd puppy. Please note that Argus has a show coat not a stock coat. He does not have the high energy of the stock bred Aussie's, he's a pretty mellow fellow and he will follow his person to the ends of the earth. Argus's tail has been docked to breed standard. I have tried to include as many photos of his coat color/markings as possible. (Genetic testing will reveal coat color allele wise). He has one amber eye/one ice blue eye. His adult weight should be between 50-60 pounds. Argus is completely house trained and crate trained here.  Argus is UTD on his puppy shots. Argus is very toy/praise/treat motivated. He currently knows the following commands; "Go potty", "Leave it", "sit", "down as in lay down", "kennel meaning crate", "watch it", we are currently working on "spin". His price includes the following; collar, leash, blanket, large dog bed with 2 covers, toys, current food, treats, bowls, chews, shots record and health certificate. Argus is also leash trained. Argus has an excellent recall and stays by my side off leash in our 1/2 acre fenced yard. Argus travels great. He is calm and does not chew anything that's not his. When I viewed his litter, the litter consisted of 2 black tricolors and another almost identical to him minus the ice blue eye and atypical black markings noted in Argus's coat. We are not a kennel, we only accept cash as that is how we paid.

Due to our adult son's complex medical issues and multiple appointments, Argus is being placed in hopes that he finds his forever home. Text is best as we have multiple staff in and out of our home along with various appointments.

Look at me! I am an Australian Shepherd puppy! My Mom is Patty. I was born on February 17th and I will be ready for my forever home on April 13th! I have been family raised on a farm in the country around children. I have had my shots and dewormers. I have been checked by a veterinarian. For more information or to schedule a visit with me, please contact Leroy Monday through Saturday. All Sunday calls will be returned on Monday.

Some more info on The Australian Shepherd-

Australian Shepherds, bred initially to herd livestock and be work dogs, have maintained their energetic nature and are happiest when given a task and being played with. These dogs are very intelligent and thrive when performing activities and love to learn new tricks and games. They are easy to train and highly intelligent, but do have a tendency to bark or howl, and use their mouth to communicate by chewing or play-biting, and for this reason usually enjoy activities such as fetch. Aussies are prone to explore and have very high energy needs. It is important for them to get lots of exercise; they are very playful and not receiving the attention they need could lead to them developing destructive tendencies or being loud. Their ability to perform tasks make them excellent guide dogs for personal assistance and they excel at search and rescue or police work as well. Australian Shepherds can make excellent family dogs for active families. They are very loyal and bond well with owners while also doing well with strangers and other dogs as well. Their tendency to herd may have them gently herding kids, but they usually do really well with children! Australian Shepherds also are very protective and will warn their owners if they hear or see something, and require a confident owner or they will feel like they are assuming the dominant role.  Aussies require a moderate amount of grooming, but a lot of attention and don’t do well being left alone.
