The history of the Poodle spans centuries as well as across various countries, and the breed is one of the smartest in the world.  When you think of a Poodle what comes to mind is the circus performing dog with the fancy haircuts and frilly outfits.  However, they were initially bred to be water retrievers.  They would leap into the water and fetch fowl, arrows, and whatever else a hunter needed to be recovered.  It has been noted that the Poodle originated in Germany, where the name came from the German word “pudel or pudelin” which means a splash in the water.  While in France where the Poodle became popular it was known as a “Caniche.”  “Caniche” came from the French word “chien canard” which means duck dog.  The breed had its hair cut in a specific style to assist them in the job they were meant to do.  They are extremely bright, dignified, and devoted, and make great pets for the family.  Miniature Poodles would not be good with small children, but are great for apartment living as long as they do get the exercise they need, or they can become destructive.  Miniature Poodles are usually 11-15 inches high, and normally weigh 15-17 pounds. Poodles are generally a healthy breed and with routine veterinary visits and loving care they should live a long and happy life.

The miniature dachshund is a small hound dog breed from Germany with either a short, wire-haired, or longhaired coat and a long, low body. These dogs are simply the smaller variety of the dachshund dog breed, with the larger variety being the standard dachshund. Mini dachshunds typically weigh 11 pounds or less while standard dachshunds weigh 16 to 32 pounds on average. The breed is generally spunky and playful, and it makes for an alert little watchdog.

Bella!

This beautiful girl has a light golden coat. She is fun yet still developing her little personality amongst her littermates. She is well socialized with them, her humans which include children and other animals. She gets plenty of play and is growing healthy! 

Bella’s mom is a beautiful AKC registered golden retriever and her father is a handsome 18lbs mini poodle. Together, they have made beautiful and well natured pups in the past.  Bella’s estimated adult size is between 40-50lbs.
